Executive Director

I joined the NYFC team in March 2016, and serve as the Executive Director. Before joining NYFC, I worked for a number of non profit organizations including the National Urban League, Seedco, and the United Nations Population Fund in Mexico City. In addition to my work at NYFC, I’m an Adjunct Lecturer at Columbia University School of Social Work where I lecture on promoting and retaining diversity in the workplace. I received my MPA and MSW from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Science from Skidmore College.

I joined NYFC in _____. As Youth Academic Advisor, I’m responsible for providing direct support to the recipients of NYFC’s signature programs. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 13 years with New York City youth and young adults from at-risk communities, including as Life Coach Program Director at Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School. I joined NYFC in September 2018. As Manager of Fund Development Communications, I’m responsible for identifying and securing funding and partnership opportunities for New Yorkers For Children, and for all marketing, social media, and other external communications. Before joining NYFC, I spent several years in nonprofit development and communications positions, and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Oakland, CA managing communications, development, and social media. I joined NYFC in May 2006. As Administrative Director, I anchor the administrative work of our organization, and manage all the back office tasks necessary to provide support to the mission of NYFC. Before joining NYFC, I served as the Executive Director of St. Frances Cabrini Shrine in Washington Heights for 12 years. I also taught religious studies in Chicago and New York for 15 years. I joined NYFC in January 2019. As Program Development Associate, I’m responsible for supporting all of NYFC’s signature programs, including Peer Mentoring and the Youth Advisory Board (YAB). I also provide support on NYFC pilot initiatives such as YVLifeSet. Before joining NYFC, I worked with Ray of Hope Amazon in Brazil to bring health interventions to native villagers. I have also worked with The Center for Global Health, a World Health Organization Collaborating Center. I joined NYFC in February 2020. As Director of Programs, I’m responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of NYFC Signature Programs and leads program planning and implementation for pilot initiatives. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 14 years in the field of higher education and youth development. This included a position as Director of Edgies Teen Center and College Prep Program at Educational Alliance, and as the Youth Academic Advisor here at NYFC and at SUNY Buffalo State.
