Hip hop legends Dana Dane, DJ Whiz (of Kid ‘N Play fame) and D-Nice joined Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Renee Rockefeller, Victor Matthews, Marisa Brown, Zani Gugelmann, Alexandra Lind Rose, Valesca Guerrand-Hermès, Donatella Arpaia, Lauren Davis, Martin Gibson-Dessoffy, Amy McFarland, Norma Olarte Becker, Lauren Shortt Pinto, Neva Anton and Eva Anisko to help 20 teens living in foster care at the New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) Wrap 2 Rap holiday party on Wednesday, November 30. NYFC hosted an afternoon of wrapping presents for younger children in foster care at Bellini Restaurant from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The teens, who are members of the Administration for Children’s Services’ Peer Leadership Council (PLC), wrapped toys for their “Little Angels” – younger children in foster care with whom they have developed peer mentoring relationships. PLC provides young people in foster care between the ages of 14 and 21 the opportunity to develop self confidence, leadership skills and a supportive peer network.

The afternoon’s festivities were set to tunes spun by hip hop idol D-Nice, who played everything from R&B and rap classics to new releases. Each young person in attendance received a goodie bag from Kenneth Cole Productions filled with holiday treats donated from L’Oreal, Altoids, Target, American Greetings, Earnest Sewn, Theory, Nivea, Baby Phat, Philosophy, Abercrombie & Fitch, LeSport Sac, Lippman Collection, ghd, Pixi, Lands End, Vibe, Mac and more! Scotch 3M generously donated wrapping paper, tape, dispensers and bows. Bellini graciously contributed venue, food and beverage for this event.
